Just gather up the ingredients.
Measure into a bowl. Since I am taking the time to make the mix, I make a LOT of it! This time I multiplied the recipe times 8.
Blend well. The Magic Bullet blender is great for blending spices.
I like to reuse my old spice containers. Just fill and store with your other spices.
I like to print the recipe on the container. Then, to prevent the label from getting wet, I seal it with clear packaging tape. These spice mixes are great holiday gift ideas!

ReplyDeleteI am a ESL student and is complicated for me to understand elaborated recipes with uncommun spices names.
Thanks for sharing.
I do the same thing for my rubs and homemade seasoning blends. I print out the recipe and tape it to the spice bottle with a piece of packing tape, this way when I use it up it takes just 2-3 min to make a new batch. Great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteThank you. 😊
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Vera.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming the cornstarch is to thicken it to stick to the veggies and chicken?
ReplyDeleteYes, Jeannette. That is absolutely correct. I hope you enjoy the recipe.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this!! Needed it.
ReplyDeletePlease clarify,
ReplyDeleteBottle shows 1T corn starch
Recipe shows 2T.
Thank you for pointing that out. I have corrected the recipe, to read 1 Tablespoon.
DeleteBlend all spices in a blender. Store in an airtight container. Use 1 tablespoon per 1 pound of meat. Makes 3 1/2 tablespoons. what's the last 3 1/2 means?
ReplyDeleteThe recipe makes 3 1/2 tablespoons of seasoning. Enough for 3 1/2 pounds of meat or vegetables.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea for making homemade spices for gifts! Thanks for sharing that tip. My boyfriend always laughs at me when I save my empty spice containers, pickle jars, ect. But they really do become useful to have at times. As soon as I throw one away, I wish I had it another week or two later. LOL
ReplyDeleteI also find that saving the large 32 ounce peanut plastic containers work great for sharing my cucumber salad during cucumber season. They don't leak and I don't have to worry about not getting my containers back. (They still give them back though, because they want refills!)
I plan to try this seasoning mix. We love fajita's and usually just go out to eat them, but I want to try making them at home for a change. Have you tried any of the slow cooker fajita recipes? I'm a little concerned that it just wouldn't be the same without it being grilled.. I will let you know how it turns out and if you supply me a great easy to make fajita recipe, I can make it and submit a picture of it for you with a comment. Us bloggers must stick together! Please visit my site sometime; https://mymuffintopbellyfix.com I love getting new visitors and new suggestions. In fact, I can add your recipes to my site, it they are considered to be meals for diet plans.
Much appreciated! I'm following you now & saved your pin!

Thank you, for the kind words, Devara. I have included a recipe for Michelle's Chicken Fajitas. The link is in this post. I hope you enjoy it. I will give your site a look.
DeleteThank you for your recipe. I prefer to make my own spice mixes, too, to stay away from the cornstarch and sugar. I leave out the cornstarch and substitute xylitol or other sugar substitute.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of paprika please? Hungarian, plain or smoked.
ReplyDeleteI buy Tone's/Member's Mark spices at Sam's Club. In this recipe, I used Tone's Spanish Style Paprika. If you can't find that, use regular or smoked.
