Do you remember the Cinnamon Crispas that Taco Bell used to sell, in the early 80s? Every once in a while I get the craving. Since they no longer sell these, at the border; I have to make my own. Good thing they are easy to make.
Just cut packaged flour tortillas, into wedges. Then fry to lightly brown.
Toss in cinnamon sugar, and voila, craving satisfied!
CINNAMON CRISPAS
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup sugar
1 Teaspoon cinnamon
4 Flour tortillas, each cut into 12 wedges
Oil for deep frying
Directions:
In a medium sized mixing bowl, blend cinnamon and sugar; set aside. Slice tortillas into 12 equal wedges. (Cut into fourths, then each fourth into thirds). Fill a deep frying pan 1/3, up the side with cooking oil. Heat oil to 350. Fry tortilla wedges, until lightly browned. Transfer to a draining rack. While fried chips are still warm, dredge in cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve immediately. Serves 4.
